Challenge: To redefine the process of trimming climbing skins to skis by developing a tool that simplifies the process, reduces chance of user error, reduces user stress and does a perfect job of matching any climbing skin to any ski.
Solution: By allowing the user to apply their (expensive) climbing skins to the bases of their skis exaclty in the position they want them in when in use before trimming, we were able to reduce potential errors and associated stress.
The redesigned trim tool is a departure from the status quo empowering customers to trim their own skins without fear of destroying their investment.
The new tool intuitively fits to both left and right hands comfortably and encourages forces to be applied appropriately to get a perfect trim - even the first time.
